An identity and packaging redesign for Bramblewood Cottage, local maker of traditional Scottish treats. A soft, earthy design with subtle bramble vines reflects the all-natural ingredients and care that go into every box.

Logo and workmark design for a new Mexico-based Pyrethrum seller—a division of the U.S. parent company of MGK. (Pyrethrum is a natural derivative of the chrysanthemum flower, and is used as an active ingredient in many insecticides.)

A nautically-themed invitation system with Victorian flair: The perfect fit for a hip couple with a wedding reception aboard the Minneapolis Queen Riverboat on the Mississippi.

03.2008 | Livefront Web Development: Logotype and Identity (project completed at orangeseed design)
A new logo and identity system for a growing Minneapolis-based web and applications developer. The client's “Effective design, solid code” mantra called for a clean, modern, and bold aesthetic. Custom-drawn logotype and other typographic details make use of coding syntax, most notably in the logo's enclosing symbols, which hark to the HTML tag. Diecut notches in the stationery pieces offer a unique, premium feel.

A series of promotional posters for Andersen Windows' internal health program. The system also includes vending machine signage and floor graphics to help enforce the message that simple eating habit choices can make a big difference in your health.

A postcard to spread the word about our senior show, with mini artists' statements in the fashion of personal ads.

12.2006 | 3M Sandblaster Sandpaper (Student Project)
This package redesign takes on a blueprint look to emphasize the importance of planning and structure behind every good woodworking project. Cutaways showcase the sandpaper’s tactile nature while a system of expressive number marks denote varying paper grits.

11.2006 | Nut Goodie Magazine Ads (Student Project)
A slightly quirky campaign to enlist a new generation of snackers for a classic candy. Because the Nut Goodie has remained true to its original packaging and recipe for nearly a 100 years, I likened it to other “nutty classics” that debuted around the same time period, including Ford’s Model-T, Picasso’s Cubism, Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, and the play Peter Pan.

11.2006 | “10 Things I Have Learned” Books (Student Project)
A project to honor a master two different ways. Two short books filled up with his “10 Things” speech, one with classic typographic sensibilities, and one with modern. Both employ a playfulness indicative of Mr. Glaser’s work.

An imaginative challenge to design a college dorm room outfitted entirely in Target products, then present the idea in one nifty poster. My concept was “Room for more,” a room for your campus socialite, who is constantly having company. As such, the area was dynamic, with multi-purpose, stackable, and collapsible furniture to make the most of a cramped space.

WrapUp is a classy place to have your gifts professionally wrapped in custom papers, but they also have some trendy urban spunk. The logomark is a stylized gift with an upturned corner hinting at not only wrapping itself, but the mystery inside.

10.2006 | Minnesota Weather Calendar (Student Project)
An accord ian-folding booklet that can unfold entirely to compare up to six months of Minnesota climate averages at a time. Classical typefaces he ark to the history of the data, while a modern layout best organizes it.

09.2006 | Hemingway Book Jackets (Student Project)
Book jacket redesigns, and an exercise in unifying a series. The concept centers on the great American author's often auto-biographical plot elements, with abstract illustrations seemingly sprouting from his name. Also nods to war-era typography.

Poster, postcard, brochure and other assets to promote a student and alumni design conference with an all-star line-up of speakers. A can-on-a-string concept is used to emphasize “opening up” with informative, playful communication.
